Every year in fantasy football there’s surprises, both good and bad, and injuries but this season especially has allowed for us waiver wire rats to find more gems in the sewers than usual. It’s too early to tell between a wolf in sheep’s clothing and potential breakout stars who will be reliable for us throughout the rest of the season.
Here are some charts and notes on target share and snap counts that can may be able to help us out a bit and differentiate between those wide receivers who you should spend FAAB on or let your league mates take instead.

Malik Washington – MIA Dolphins
The Dolphins top RB, De’Von Achane will be out for the rest of the season with an ACL injury so the team is going to have to manifest some new playmakers. Washington is shaping up to be that guy playing a ton of snaps and is being targeted a lot by QB Malik Willis. Some other wideouts I would drop for Washington: KC Concepcion, Xavier Worthy, Quentin Johnston, Brian Thomas Jr.
Michael Wilson – ARI Cardinals
As shown in the table below, Wilson is currently 4th overall amongst all wide receivers in targets (31) and is top 5 is snaps played (192). The Cardinals paid Wilson in the off season, QB Jacoby Brissett loves him (he was also his favorite target last season), and Marvin Harrison Jr. is soft, slow and apparently stinks despite having great “work ethic”. Maybe he should try working smarter, not harder. 🤷🏻♂️
Quentin Johnston – LA Chargers
The Chargers have been awful. The deep threat hasn’t been much of one so far this season — 6 receptions on 17 targets for 64 yards is just sad. I do think Johnston will pay off in a couple of DFS tournaments, but for season-long 10-man home leagues, he’s droppable, unfortunately.
Parker Washington – JAX Jaguars
Washington has proved a lot of fantasy football twitter right, cementing himself as the clear-cut number 1 wideout in Jacksonville. Trevor Lawrence trusts him and the two have established a connection fantasy players can rely on each week.
